Frequently Asked Questions

About the App

Q: What is Cloud Crypto?
A: Cloud Crypto is a native watchOS app that lets you register your Apple Watch as a crypto device, view your account balance and stats, and initiate transfers. It supports push notifications.
Q: What devices and OS versions are supported?
A: Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 9.0 or later.
Q: Do I need an iPhone app?
A: Cloud Crypto is an independent watchOS app. You can install it via the App Store on Apple Watch or from the Watch app on iPhone. It does not have a supporting Apple iPhone app.
Q: What Crypto currency is supported?
A: The only currency supported is c3. c3 stands for Cloud Crypto Currency. c3 is only ever transacted on the CloudCrypto.app. It has 0 monetary value. It is designed as a learning tool to better understand crypto currency.

Getting Started

Q: How do I register my watch?
  • Open Cloud Crypto on Apple Watch
  • Tap REGISTER
  • Enter a serial number or tap Generate
  • Confirm to complete registration
Q: Where can I see my serial number later?
A: It's shown on the main screen after registration.
Q: Can I use the app offline?
A: You can open the app and see the last known state, but registration, account refresh, and transfers require internet connectivity.

Account and Transfers

Q: How do I view my account balance and statistics?
  • From the main screen, tap ACCOUNT
  • The app fetches your current balance and totals sent/received from the server
Q: How do I send Cloud Crypto Currency (c3)?
  • Tap TRANSFER
  • Enter the destination account ID and amount (memo optional if shown)
  • Tap SEND and wait for confirmation

Registration Lifecycle

Q: How do I deregister my watch?
A: Uninstall the application from your watch.
Q: I replaced or reset my watch—what now?
A: If possible, uninstall on the old watch first. If not, contact support with your previous serial number so we can revoke the old registration, then install Cloud Crypto on the new watch and register again.

Notifications

Q: What notifications can I receive?
A: Registration updates, configuration changes, and account status updates.
Q: I'm not receiving notifications—how do I fix it?
  • On Apple Watch: Settings > Notifications > Cloud Crypto > Allow Notifications
  • Ensure the watch has internet access
  • Open the app once after installing or updating to refresh the device token
  • Restart Apple Watch if needed

Network & Status

Q: What does the NETWORK screen show?
A: High-level ledger stats (accounts, transactions, totals) and device counts by platform (iOS vs Android), pulled from the backend.

Privacy and Security

Q: What data is stored on my watch?
  • A secure RSA 2048-bit key pair in the Keychain (private key never leaves the device)
  • Non-sensitive registration metadata (serial number, timestamps, account ID) in UserDefaults
Q: What data is sent to the server?
  • Your public key (not the private key)
  • The serial number you enter or generate
  • A device attestation blob
  • Your device token (for notifications), if available
Q: Is my data encrypted?
  • Yes. All network traffic uses HTTPS
  • Your private key is stored securely in the Keychain using system encryption

Troubleshooting

Q: Registration failed—what can I try?
  • Check internet connectivity
  • If you denied notifications, registration can still work, but you won't receive alerts
  • Try again; if it persists, contact support with the error shown on the watch
Q: The app won't open or crashes.
  • Update to the latest version
  • Restart your Apple Watch
  • Reinstall the app (you'll need to register again)
  • If it continues, contact support with your watch model and watchOS version
Q: Do you support multiple accounts?
A: No. One watch = One Account.

Legal

Q: Where can I find your Privacy Policy?

Best Practices

  • Let the app generate a serial number to avoid typos
  • Double-check destination account IDs before sending transfers
